Client
City of Bethel

Situation
The City of Bethel constructed a new aquatic center and with some of the highest energy costs in the US, they needed a more affordable way to access energy for the facility.

Unique Challenges
Wetlands and challenging subsurface conditions required creative foundation solutions.

Solution
STG designed and built the unique pile foundation and in March 2014, STG installed one wind turbine capable of putting out 100 kW to help power the new Yukon-Kuskokwim Regional Aquatic Health and Safety Center, which features a six-lane swimming pool, weight room, hot tub, and more for Bethel residents and surrounding communities.
